In this private walking tour, David, a local of 50 years, will quickly show you all the highlights of Edinburgh's spectacular Royal Mile, from Edinburgh Castle to Holyrood Palace. There'll be lots of photography tips along the way, and you'll learn lots about the history of each of the places we visit. It's the ideal way to discover The Royal Mile and uncover all its iconic attractions & secret gems, with a knowledgable, local guide & photographer.

You'll see the best of The Royal Mile, improve your photography, and capture wonderful photos along the way.

All smartphones & cameras are suitable, and there'll be lots of really useful travel photography tips along the way. Suitable for beginner & enthusiast photographers.

This private tour last 4 hours and covers approximately 3 miles. We recommend a reasonable level of fitness, comfortable shoes, sun-hat & water.

What’s Included

• We'll explore and photograph all the iconic and hidden attractions along Edinburgh’s Royal Mile, from Edinburgh Castle to The Palace of Holyroodhouse (note: we only visit the exterior (outside) of Edinburgh Castle & Holyrood Palace. Separate entry to these attractions can be arranged on request)

• David will explain the history of The Royal Mile, it’s architecture and notable residents & stories along the way

• We’ll stop for a complimentary coffee n’ cake in a local cafe about half way through the tour

Price & Duration

£250 per GROUP (Price includes up to 6 people in a PRIVATE group tour)

Works out at just £41 per person for a group of six. If you have a larger group, please email me for a quote.

This walking tour lasts around 4 hours and will cover a distance of around 3 miles in Edinburgh’s Royal Mile & Old Town.

The meeting point is at the entrance to The Scotch Whisky Experience at Castle Hill on The Royal Mile EH1 2NE. I will be wearing a BLUE CAP and have a GREY RUCKSACK.

Cancellation Policy

You may cancel your tour up to 24 hours in advance and receive a full refund.

If the event of cancellation due to bad weather you may rebook or receive a full refund.

We will only cancel a tour due to extreme weather or where there may be safety issues.

Recommendations

• A reasonable level of fitness is required for walking The Royal Mile. It can be easily managed by anyone in reasonable good health.

• Not recommended for pregnant travellers, those with heart problems or other serious medical or foot-related problems.

• Please bring comfortable walking shoes and a sun-hat and water during the summer. In the winter it’s recommended to wear warm layers, a waterproof jacket, hat, gloves and waterproof footwear.
